"American Augers, Inc. is proud to be located in Ashland County, Ohio. We have found that the local governments (township, city, county and state) are all extremely pro-business. During our recent plant expansion (that doubled the size of our facility), the Ashland Area Council for Economic Development was exceedingly helpful in navigating us through the process for obtaining state and local grants that aided us in making this expansion a reality.  We look forward to working with the AACED in the future and continuing our contribution to the economic vitality of Ashland County."

Evan Scurti, Director

  • Appointed Director of Ashland Area Council for Economic Development 2006.
  • Hired as an Economic Development Specialist for the City of Ashland in 2003
  • Worked in the City of Gahanna, OH's Development Department for 2 years during graduate school.
  • Worked with the Brooke-Hancock-Jefferson Regional Planning Commission in Steubenville, OH for 1 year as an undergraduate intern.

Education

  • Received a BA in Political Science from Franciscan University of Steubenville.
  • Received a Masters in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University.
  • 2008 Graduate of Oklahoma University's Economic Development Institute

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the organization's Business Retention and Expansion Program.
  • Maintenance of the department's database of available sites and buildings.
  • Oversee the organization's strategic planning
  • Consult with area training providers to develop employee training plans for area companies
  • Manage the County's interaction with and marketing to business executives and site selection consultants.

Nikki McConnell, Assistant to the Director

Professional

  • Employed with Custom Hoists, Inc., a local manufacturing company for 9 years
  • Employed with the City of Ashland for 4 years in the Mayor’s office and Economic Development.


Education

  • Attended Black River High School, Bowling Green University and Ashland University. Currently working on BS with a major in accounting.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Incentive program administration, Office management, web page administration, research & report preparation.
