Successful, results driven, economic development is a community activity.  All stakeholders play a vital role in the progress and development of the area.  Ashland Economic Development is very fortunate to have numerous active partners within the community.  This includes local government, education, business and community.

Major Components of the Economic Development Work Plan include:

Business Retention & Expansion
Develop programs, policies and strategies to assist local businesses to maintain & grow; 70 – 80% of all job creation is generated by existing business.

Business Attraction
Position the community to be preferred site for relocation/expansion projects through product development and marketing programs.

Entrepreneurial Support
Create an environment where there is support for business start-ups through identification of existing organizations & programs and establishment of business incubators.

Workforce Development
Foster partnerships between business, education and government to establish programs to provide opportunities for students and citizens to enhance job skills
